Spencer joined the Durum Capital team in 2019 as an analyst in the Durum Opportunities Fund (DOF). In the fall of 2021, Spencer took a leadership role in the Durum Carbon limited partnerships that were created to provide investment exposure to Alberta’s industrial compliance market. Durum Carbon is now one of the largest financial participants in the Alberta market alongside Bank of Montreal and Goldman Sachs. In the summer of 2023, Spencer was promoted to Managing Director and continues to oversee the Durum Carbon limited partnerships in addition to his role in DOF. Before joining Durum Capital, Spencer worked in KPMGs Deal Advisory Group, providing transaction due diligence services for a number of pension funds, private equity firms, and corporations. Spencer was awarded the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2020.
